The Republic of Haiti is a mountainous country located on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, which it shares with the Dominican Republic. Over the centuries, people from Africa, France, Spain, and other places in the Caribbean have contributed in different ways to Haiti’s long, dramatic history and rich, vibrant culture. Haiti was once a French colony and the people there speak French, Kreyòl (Creole) and Spanish (in border areas).
Haiti is also the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the poorest in the world.
It’s so hard to believe that Haiti is only a couple hours from Miami Beach, Florida!
There are many Haiti Outreach Programs – here is one of them that I recently came across Click on Give Haiti Hope
